  • Thesis at ETH-Lausanne (”Critical operation parameters of solar multi-stage evaporators” 1982, BBC-Price in Energy Research 1981);

  • 1981-1984 consultant for energy in buildings, solar heating systems for dwellings, multi-stage evaporators for sea water desalination, part-time assistant for energy in buildings at dep. of architecture, ETH-Zürich and Laboratory for Energy-Systems;
  • 1985-2000 Head of the Energy Office of the State of Zürich;
    1. 86 - 98 member of the Swiss Commission for Energy Research, CORE, 96-98 as Vice-president, 4 years as president of the Swiss Commission for Pilot- and Demonstration Projects;
    2. 1989-90 Initiation and HVAC-planning of Zero-Heating Energy Dwelling Wädenswil in coop. with architect Ruedi Fraefel;
    3. 1992-2000 Techn. Consulting for comfoHOME® for UC-Uebersax-Consulting;
    4. Development/communication of the brand MINERGIE® in Switzerland, in close cooperation with UC Uebersax Consulting, economist and specialist for brands;
    5. 1998 Foundation of the Swiss MINERGIE® association, until 2000 president of the commission of the board, since 2006 vice-president and head of the strategic group;

  • 1.11.00 - 30.6.03 CEO of comfoHOME Ltd, development of the sector technical equipment for comfortable, energy-efficient buildings for Zehnder Group;
  • 1.7.2003 - 31.10.2010 head Products and Technology of Zehnder Group:
    Technical basis for the development of the ventilation sector of the Group from 0 sales in 2000 to 120 Mio. €/a in 2009. Development of the early air distribution system, air treatment system, kitchen hood-system with V-Zug. Initiation of introduction of enthalpy exchangers, compact energy unit for apartments, fan-supported radiators for heating and cooling. Inventor of patents or applications for soil heat exchangers with liquid loop, building air-tightness measurements, oval air duct, window heat recovery ventilator, graphite-based radiator.
    Training of local Zehnder staff on first projects for energy efficient buildings in Germany, Italy, USA, France, Austria, England, Russia, China.
  • Since 2004 Member of the Swiss Academy of Technical Sciences, thanks to achievements for the rational use of energy in buildings and the MINERGIE®-concept;
  • Since 2010: Owner of Kriesi Energie GmbH, consulting company for energy concepts for energy-efficient buildings; training in MINERGIE-technology in English, French, German; 
  • Since 2021: President and CEO of IG Solalpine, association for winter electricity from large PV-installations above the winter fog.
